Noneillah Speaks With R and B Artist: Voice

Noneillah Friday Music Pick Voice

Voice...Such a small yet powerful word. It speaks volumes. Maybe that’s why it’s his name; a moniker befitting the strength and passion in his heart. As a Brooklyn native, how could he be anything else but? A straight shooter who’s a self proclaimed “Fact Checker”. Confident but not cocky. Humble but not timid. Sensual but not overtly sexual. A Singer/Songwriter with the ability to paint vivid pictures with words. As an actor, his gift is marrying these three elements to create something truly special, something honest.
Growing up on a soul food diet of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and Michael Jackson there was no shortage of powerful, influential figures. He would often imitate Jackson’s dance moves. He would even challenge himself to imitate the wide vocal range that MJ possessed. It’s odd to think that he fell into step with his craft accidentally. Doing other things eventually lead him back to his songful roots. Although Voice still wears many hats, he finally decided Music was his true love. Then he fell in love with Music’s mistress ...writing. The more he wrote, the more obsessed he became. The only other thing that came close to that love, was becoming a father. More fruit from the tree of inspiration. It’s also “Very, very scary; being a full time parent and full time artist. These are the two most important aspects of my life. To excel at both requires serious time management skills” says V. He goes on to say “I never feel like I’m doing enough; I want more. One of the reasons I love music so much is that it allows me a springboard, a platform for everything else I want to do; it allows me to explore all my facets.” Making fond memories while touching a captive audience, Voice continues to love the work he does. That love is apparent. It is woven into every fiber of the man and the artist that he is today.
