Exposed Exclusive Interview with Sean Cos Mason "Noneillah"
Noneillah like to thank the best Canadian music blog Exposed on the behalf of Montclair's talented hip-hop artist, songwriter, music engineer, digital artist and Noneillah CEO Sean Cos Mason.
Exposed Vocals: So tell us Sean’s story. Where did He grow up? What made him decide to become an artist?
Sean Cos Mason grew up in Montclair, NJ. At an early age his mother introduced him to different genres of music, from classical, jazz, disco, club, opera and more; through her “Music Appreciated” college course. When he got older, he wanted to learn more about the music; so he signed up for a choral class at Mountside Middle school in Montclair. In his choral music class, they went to different schools to put on concerts. Right then and there, he knew his love for music had grown with a strong passion for learning more.
The age of 17 years old, Sean Cos Mason began to attend local rap battles. From the age to 17 to 20, he has performed in multiple underground venues, and rap battles with his battle group called, “When Animalz Attack.” This talented rap artist was not only a battler in the group he also was a staff. He used to run rap battle leagues and pick a lot of New Jersey’s talent to go to perform worldwide. Sean was very active in the rap culture. Being exposed to a different level of the music world, Sean decides to become an artist.
Exposed Vocals: Since everyone was a start-up once, can you give any smaller or local bands or artists looking to get gigs and airplay some tips?
Sean said, "His tip he will give to smaller and local bands artist who are looking for gigs and airplay is for them to be prepared to send out 100-200 CD’s with one-sheets, contact college radio stations that play their genera of music then check back in a couple of weeks by phone or email." "Also, the artist should submit their music to music blogs and DJ’s or radio host."
As for as, getting gigs, he will tell the artist or bands to go where there is a significant amount of people like Fashion Week, clubs and community concerts. The artist must know that being in this industry; they must stay committed, focus, push hard for his or her dream to become successful and stay on your grind. The most crucial thing is to build a business relationship, network with other artist and must hang around like-minded experience people who can help you the industry.
Exposed Vocals: Do Sean ever make mistakes during performances? How does he handle that?
Sean told us he had made many mistakes when performing or interviews because we all should know that mistakes are a part of everyday life. How can one learn or correct if you do not make any mistakes? Whenever he makes a mistake, he will typically try to focus on his weak points and practice to prepare himself to become a perfectionist. Or If he is nervous before a performance, Sean try to make a conscious effort to be more comfortable. Also, he said, He will take a deep breath and meditate before performing. Sean recalled when he made a mistake on the stage be played it off as it was a part of his performance.
Exposed Vocals: Does Sean tour? Anything interesting happens on a tour that you think our readers would enjoy hearing about?
Sean had done a local tour in the Tri-State area, but he cannot recall any exciting moments or read about during my tour.
Exposed Vocals: Any planned studio upgrades? What is he working with now?
Sean said, "He did not have any studio upgrades at this giving time, but I’m working on his Noneillah Fashion and product line."
Exposed Vocals: How does Sean find ways to promote his music? What works best for him?
Sean promoted his music by performing, submitting his music to music blogs, on social media, Ad’s prints, podcast radio station, club and word of mouth.
Exposed Vocals: If Sean could perform anywhere and with any artists (Dead or Alive) where and who would it be with? Why?
Sean stated that he would like to perform with Eminem, Bust Rhyme, Rick Ross and Michael Jackson the King of Pop.
Sean told us, he loves their style and swag. Sean told us he does not have any particular place to perform anywhere; he does not have any specific place to perform.
Exposed Vocals: So, what’s next? Any new upcoming projects that you want to talk about?
Sean next project will be him pushing his single “Feel So Good” and working on putting a video together. He also is focusing on getting my clothing line in boutiques and photo shoots.
Exposed Vocals: If Sean wasn’t making music, what would you be doing?
If Sean were not making music, he would be finishing up his college degree in Business Finance, working to taking care of his disabled mother, promoting his blog to generate some finance and seeking investors for his Noneiillah Fashion Brand.
Exposed Vocals: What should fans look forward to in the next year or so?
Sean Cos Mason wants his fan to be looking forward to seeing him on Reality TV and get his music played in commercial, games, TV shows and more.
