Who is Stephanie Adams?

Stephanie Lynn Adams

Stephanie Adams (July 24, 1970 – May 18, 2018)[1][2] was an American model and author. She was the November 1992 Playboy Playmate.
On May 18, 2018, Adams killed her seven-year-old son and herself.[3] According to the New York City Police Department, Adams pushed her son out of a 25th-story window, before jumping herself.[3][4]

Adams was born in Orange, New Jersey,[1] and was raised by her aunts Joyce and Pearl, former models who encouraged her to begin modeling at the age of 16.[5]She was of African AmericanCaucasian, and Cherokee ancestry[6][7] and claimed to be a direct descendant of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams.[8]

Adams graduated from Ophelia DeVore School of Charm and began a career as a model, appearing in photo shoots for Seventeen magazine, Venus Swimwear, and commercial advertisements for Clairol.[5] She appeared as "Miss November 1992" in Playboy magazine[1] while modeling for Wilhelmina Models. She later moved to Elite Model Management after becoming engaged to its CEO, John Casablancas.[9]
Adams earned a bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1992.[9][10][11][12] She made a cameo appearance for the "Top 10" list on the Late Show with David Letterman on November 20, 2003, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Playboy magazine.[13] She appeared on the cover of The Village Voice in 2005.[14]
In 1999, Adams founded Goddessy, according to her a portmanteau of "goddess" and "odyssey". She published her first book in 2003 and started her own publishing company in 2007. Following the death of her aunt from breast cancer in 2003, she dedicated more of her time to writing. That same year, she published a book dedicated to her deceased aunt titled He Only Takes The Best, followed by another book written in honor of her elderly Aunt Pearl titled Guardian. Adams has produced about two dozen metaphysical books, astrology calendars, and a tarot card set marketed under the Goddess brand.[6][15] She also published a novel titled Empress in 2004 featuring women in ancient Rome.[16]
Adams was founder and CEO of the skincare product company Goddessy Organics.[17][18] With her husband, she was co-owner of Wall Street Chiropractic and Wellness.[19]

Early in her career, Adams was married to an Italian investment banker but later divorced.[16] In a February 2003 She magazine cover story, Adams came out as a lesbian, the first Playmate to have done so.[20] In their 2004 "Best of" feature, The Village Voice declared her the "Best lesbian sex symbol", saying it was "hard to turn a page in a queer rag without seeing the willowy model peeking out in a bikini or nothing at all".[21] However, in 2009 Adams announced that she was engaged to marry a man,[22][23] and about the same time, described herself in an interview as straight.[24] After her marriage to a New York doctor, Adams said she was retiring from public life and would spend most of her time privately with her husband and son.[25]
In May 2006, during a dispute over where to drop her off, a New York City taxi driver called the police and falsely reported that Adams was armed with a gun and had threatened to shoot him.[26][27] The taxi driver's license was subsequently revoked and he was fined $2,700 for the incident.[28][29] Adams alleged that during the incident police threw her to the ground, causing injuries to her neck and back.[30] Adams filed a lawsuit against the New York City Police Department in 2006. In February 2012, a jury awarded her $1.2 million, $400,000 more than had been sought by her lawyer,[31][32][33] but the judge later reduced it to $373,000.[34] Adams stated that she had "no animosity toward the NYPD".[35][36]

On the evening of May 17, 2018, Adams with her seven-year-old son Vincent, checked into a 25th-floor penthouse in the Gotham Hotel on 46th Street in Manhattan. The next morning, both were found dead on a second-floor balcony in the hotel's rear courtyard. According to law enforcement officials, Adams and her husband were involved in a custody battle, and hours before checking into the hotel, Adams told the New York Post that her husband and his lawyer were preventing her from taking her son on vacation.[2][37] The New York City Medical Examiner ruled the death of Stephanie as a suicide and the son as a homicide.[38][39][40][41]

How To Choose A Publicist For Rappers

How To Choose A Publicist For Rappers

The Hip-hop Publicist https://thehiphopprfirm.com/
In my original video and article on choosing publicist and music pr for your music career, I said you shouldn’t waste your money on PR in the beginning stages of your career.

Well, I just interviewed a ton of music PR firms who have done work for some of the biggest artists out there and you know what?
They pretty much agree.

You have to be at a certain level and be ready before you can even utilize the music publicist.

If you want to see the article where I interviewed the music pr firms check it out here.

You probably didn’t expect me to say this but DO NOT waste your money on a publicist.

What I want you to take away from this is that you need to learn how to publicize yourself.

Build relationships with blogs and people.

Spend your ‘Publicist’ money on creative ideas like a contest or giveaways that will entice your own fans to spread your music for the contest.

THEN, when you have a solid base and a solid project with marketing dollars behind it you can hire a publicist.

The benefit of waiting to hire a publicist until you’re ready

Spending that marketing money in another way such as a contest or creative idea can provide benefits such as these:

1) You involve your fans in something to do with you, which makes them stronger, more hardcore fans.
2) Your fans get the chance to win something from you and that excites them MORE about you.
3) They are the better word of mouth than anyone else.
4) It brings attention to you if any random person joins the contest just to win stuff who wasn’t even a fan!

Or you can use any other creative idea that costs $500.
You can get 75 T-shirts made for $500 to give away…. Or you can get 350 Hard copy CDs made with 2-page inserts.  Or you can give away $100 to 5 people or $50 to ten people. Or you can give away $300 and use the other $200 on Youtube adds which would be equivalent to 10,000 click-throughs worth of marketing.

Anything is better than spending money on publicist and music PR when you just aren’t set up or ready for it yet.

Most people that you can actually afford at this level are just self-proclaimed super promoters and really can’t even compare to the software automation I already showed you.

After showing you EVERYTHING I have shown you for FREE would you not call me a SUPER PROMOTER? And I have WAYYYY more tricks up, my sleeve buddy! You have NO idea!

Be sure to sign up to my E-mail list….. You don’t wanna miss when I post those other tricks up!

Back to what I was saying.
Some low-end publicist will charge you $500 just to send your music to ALL these website blogs that won’t even respond to them because they send everyone’s music who gives them $500 to them.
So it really isn’t worth the money.

You need to go with a solid, well-known music publicist or music pr firm. Those ones will typically bite a bit more expensive.

You get what you pay for.

By the way, I know this is true because I talked to a chick from an online music PR Company at a party in Indianapolis once and she told me they have a list of blogs they send music too for any person who pays.

How much money do you want to bet that they are just sending E-mails to the same E-mails I already gave you for in The 200+ Hip Hop Blog Contact E-mails lol.

I want to mention really quick that if you are thinking about hiring PR before you even have your own home studio set up that is a huge mistake.
I’d recommend spending money on everything that is going to help you build your craft and make better music before I’d say to spend money on marketing sub-par music.
If you are able to work and make better music, the publicist has so much more to work with when you finally hire them.
This comes back to the fact that you need to be ready before you hire PR.
So make sure you have your home studio set up and check out this article to get more information on how to set your own studio up at home for great prices.
To wrap up, be smart.
Spend your money wisely.
That $500 can buy you an AMAZING microphone or A LOT of other marketing strategies.
You just have to be creative and a truly independent artist! Good luck my friend
