Love and Hip-Hop New York Reality Star, Rapper and Co-Star Remy Ma Arrested For Punching Her Cast Member Brittany Taylor
Remy Ma Brittany Taylor
The 38-year-old "Love and Hip-Hop New York" reality star and rapper were arrested and charged for assault. Based on the online blogs and news reports stated that Remy Ma punched her co-star in the face. On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, she turned herself in to New York authorities. Later on that evening, Remy has released $1,500 bail and a temporary order of protection for Brittany Taylor. Rapper Remy Ma appears in criminal court during an arraignment on an assault charge.
According to the online articles is stated that this not Remy's first run-in with the law. Remy was released from jail back in 2014 for serving a six years sentence for shooting former friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the abdomen during a dispute in 2007. In 2014 Remy was released from jail on five years parole. The allegation had spurred parole officers to tighten up on her parole conditions, which required her to wear an ankle monitor and setting her curfew earlier.
The Love and Hip-Hop star Remy, whose government name is Reminisce Smith, was said she allegedly accused of punching her co-star Brittany Taylor in the face during a benefit concert last month. Taylor, who appears on VH1's reality series "Love and Hip Hop, New York," posted a video on Instagram with a black eye, with the caption, "It's hard to even focus because of what occurred last night...I tried my best to cover it up with makeup and move on, but that still didn't work."
We do not know what contributed to the conflicted between the two Reality Stars. Taylor lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, said Taylor is in full cooperation with the police. According to News 11, they stated that Sanford said, "This arrest demonstrates how serious this matter is, it's real life and not reality TV entertainment. " The victim Brittany Taylor has confidence in our system of justice and will continue to cooperate with the authorities fully." The Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma's lawyer, Dawn Florio, denied the allegations, vowing to fight the charges. Florio said, "The complaint (Taylor) is a liar, and my client did not touch her." He then added that there was numerous witness to the alleged incident while at the Irving Plaza.
Remy Ma's lawyer said that his client was at the charity concert on the night in question, but she lifted the event with her husband Papoose to nurse their infant during the alleged assault. Florio said Remy surveillance cameras at home shows that she was home.
Sources say Brittney Taylor is gearing up to file a lawsuit against her former Love and Hip Hop, New York co-star.
Based on the conflicted of both sides of the story, it have me to believe is this a new storyline for the next seasons to keep the ratings up and keep the viewers to tune into the upcoming show.
After all, it is Reality TV based on drama and conflicts to keep the viewer interest.
We will keep our Noneillah fans and viewers updated on this issue.
